Wall hanging never ends. Now is the time for pressed flowers wall hanging. The interesting part here is that your kids can participate in making this pressed flowers wall hanging. The result is beautiful and making process is easy.

How to make wall hanging:

In the first step you need to press flowers in a book for a few weeks. Put the flower within tissue papers in your heavy book. After they are dry, you can take these steps.

Prepare Glue stick, mod podge (or elmer’s), large blank folding cards, ribbon, tape, background paper, brushes for glue.

Rub glue stick on back of background paper, then center background paper on the front of the card. Press down.

Tape the ribbon to the inside back of the card. Glue stick the inside of the card and press closed, sealing the card with the ribbon looping out the top to create a hanger.

Lightly mod podge with brushes the background paper. Place the flowers gently on the glue. Using the brush, add more mod podge over the top of the flowers to coat (mom needs to help a bit with this part if the kids are little).

Let it dry 15-20 minutes. You can do additional layers of mod podge over the top if you want.

Hi, this post is about gift, how you can create an attractive gift using any provided accents, like artificial or dry flower, ribbon and paper. The last gift picture shows topless with cakes content as gift and how to wrap it. Maybe you know some of these ideas, but it is a good chance to look at them this time.

Gift with flower

Attaching flower to your gift is nice idea. You can use artificial or dry flowers like these gifts. Enough good looking, aren’t they? Surely you should choose the match color within the flowers and wrapper paper. So also with the ribbon if you would like to use it. It doesn’t matter if you prefer like to choose plain paper as long as it is match.

Gift with ribbon

The ribbon is usually match to everything like these gifts. Just change your idea into real work. These two gifts use ribbon as their accent. The small one looks funny but funky and the bigger one looks nice with paper card on it.

Cakes gift

If you want to give your love a topless of cakes, just arrange your cakes in the topless then wrap it with transparent plastic, you can choose the motive or plain plastic, all are fine. Then take your wide ribbon for tie it above the topless. The combination of some different color of ribbon is also fine.

The above title doesn’t need answer. Instead you can see these painting results on paper and fabric. Maybe you want to make the same. The painting fabric really doesn’t become bad choice. It is light and can be personalized and easy too. Below some nice pictures.
Painting in bag

The painting bag may look classic and suitable for advanced people. But it actually doesn’t like that. Showing your skill can be done through this way. Who know, your colleagues want your work. If you like, it is not a bad idea .

The painting that usually applied as wall decoration now is moved to your dress or scarf. You can choose various painting ideas that range from lines, abstract, flowers, scene and another alternatives. As you can see they can become so nice accent.

Here is the short tip if you like to try. After copy the pattern to the fabric, you can put the fabric on ready to use canvas (a kind of wood frame, stick your fabric here uses drawing pin) to make your fabric tight and ready to painted. Use the special paint for textile. After your painting has done, leave it for 24 hours then iron it to make the paint well stuck.

Painting on paper

Painted paper is commonly found around us. This paper can be used for greeting card, artistic work, wall decoration and more. Look at these painted cards. Really beauty, aren’t they? Maybe this work needs some skill but not too difficult to learned.

Batik is a kind of fabric that use hand painted technique as its motive. Some of batiks use cap as motive. In its making process, it use wax as media. Natural materials such as cotton or silk are used for the cloth, so that it can absorb the wax that is applied in the dye resisting process. In Wikipedia is written that: contemporary batik, while owing much to the past, is markedly different from the more traditional and formal styles. For example, the artist may use etching, discharge dyeing, stencils, different tools for waxing and dyeing, wax recipes with different resist values and work with silk, cotton, wool, leather, paper or even wood and ceramics.

This artistic fabric product can be found in Indonesia as this country ancestry art work. Many people like batik, it can be used for various dress models, home accessories, doll and many more. Batik bag

(above picture)
This batik bag shows three combination of batik motive. Really nice and has ethnic style. This batik bag is match with batik dress or plain motive dress. The batik fabric bag can be matched with classic or modern style of dress. The bag itself will be good if combined with batik wallet, scarf or handkerchief.

Batik pillow

The batik pillow is good for ethnic style of home interior or it is also fine for combination in modern interior. The variation of batik motive and pillow shape will be the main focus for this craft work. It is also has good standing with plain motive pillow. The batik pillow will match with plain motive of furniture like sofa, chair, etc.

Batik jacket at your foyer

This craft work can be different idea of batik. Jacket wall decoration at your foyer will expose the beauty of batik motive. For they who are big fan of batik this idea will be interesting. You can combine this batik jacket with brooch and beads.

The other inspiration on recycled goods are shown here. They are include fruit crock from used bamboo, candle handle from wood and egg shell then the third are the mirror frames from used plaited floormat and rattan. Want to know? Here are the pictures.

Fruit crock

These fruit crocks that made from bamboo are simple enough but really nice. Are you agree with me? The used bamboos are arranged together in a quite bent formation use rattan rope. With so strong tie, the bamboos won’t collapse.

Candle handle

Candle often needs a place for standing. Why not choose these wood candle handles? They are artistic enough but still have style to used in modern home interior for example. You can choose the vertical or horizontal lines, all are nice. The small one uses egg shell for accent.

We need the round wood (for head), color jute sack (here with red color), jute rope, small batik cloth or other ethnic motive cloth, eye bead, varnish, dried flower, color thread (here use the purple color), a small triangle stem for the nose and of course, glue.

In this craft project, we use the contrast color for combination and create the quite dark skin beside the ethnic motive cloth to produce the ethnic trace.

So, now let start to make the doll. It is easy. Take the round wood for the head and stick it above the other quite long stem for the body. The soft surface of the wood can be varnished so it has darker color. Then take the motive cloth that has the square shape. Twist it to the top of the head and then fold to the back of the head, so it form a hat like a nurse. Oh yes, I forget to tell that this cloth uses the starch solution to make it quite stiff. Then put the purple thread along the hat edge (see picture). Dont forget to put a little hair at the left and right of the doll’s head. The hairs are made from the blue color of jute.

Then wrap the body with the dress made from red color jute sack that dried. Fold it to the back using the glue and stick some dried flower at the front. Then tie the neck of the doll using the jute rope with some bundle.

Now, the ethnic doll craft project has been done.

Natural craft can be made from plant. Came from South African, Eichornia crassipes is introduced to the tropical area as decorated plant. Lately this kind of plant becomes pollutant for the river because its fast and spread growth. But finally people use this plant for potential craft material that can be used to make many craft goods. Here is a short view of this plant processing.

We need to dry up this plant before used. After dried up this plant’s color becomes quite white. Hydrogen peroxide is used as preservation ingredient for the ready to use plaited Eichornia crassipes. Also it’ll be used for whitening so the plait looks more interesting.

To get maximal result, Eichornia crassipes is boiled first with hydrogen peroxide then begin to the coloring process. The detail process is like this. Boil the water. Insert the hydrogen peroxide, stir with wood ladle. Insert the plant for about 5 minutes, drained. Wash with clean water for 3 times. Then come to the coloring process.

The dye that used is textile dye. Boil the water. Insert the dye while stiring it. Insert the plant to the heated pan. After 15 minutes the color has absorbed, drained and then dip it to the clean water. Use the wood ladle for this process. Then sunbathe it until dry.

The finishing ingredient for the natural plait of this plant is melamine. After the plait has dried and whitened, it is sprayed with melamine so it looks shone.

How to make flower from banana stem? The stem of banana tree can be nice craft material. This post is to give the short summary about the banana stem processing that start from the raw material become ready to use material for craft project.

How to make flower process:

After preparing the banana stem, the first step is put it in the sun for 1-3 days so the banana stem is really dry. Then soak the banana stems into water that added with a little citroenzuur for 2 hours. Keep turning the banana stem so the color will be mixed (this is the bleaching process). The next process is releasing the inside and outside part of banana stem. Then put the inside and outside layer of banana stem into the container to washing it. Then put again the banana stem under the sun. Before using it, leave the banana stems for a night. In order to prevent the banana stem breaks when be used, so we need to give the thin cotton fabric layer to the banana stem with ironing it after giving the glue.

Then the second process is giving the color to the banana stem. Boil the water and add the dye also benzoate to prevent the fungi. Keep turning the banana stem and leave it in that boiled water for 20 minutes. Then wash the banana stem before put it in the sun about 3 days or really dry. Then aerate it in order to get the soft banana stem. The last process is use again the thin cotton fabric as the stem base in order to get the natural color and keeps its elasticity.
