The Poetry from Flower
Ikenobo is mother of Ikebana. Its say that in 7th century, a florist expert called Sen-mu built a cottage in the border of a lake. The cottage is called Ikenobo is made for a learning place for his students to learn flower arrangement. In the beginning, Ikenobo only can be enjoyed by patrician and temple dwellers. At 1476, Sen-kei Ikenobo (12th of Sen-mu ancestry) established the first school of flower arrangement for public. After World War II, Ikebana Ikenobo start to spread around the world.
Although its appearance looks minimalize, but Ikebana Ikenobo flower arrangement contains a deep philosophy. Ikebana Ikenobo flower arrangement can describe the beauty of mountain scene or life symbol. Because of that, Ikebana Ikenobo often called as poetry or painting made from flower.
