Here is an example of patchwork creation craft project. This fabric craft project based on patchwork but with a little different way with stacking the shaped and folded fabric cuts. Another more simple patchwork can be seen at this craft project article.
This tea pot base patchwork craft has circle shape with diameter about 19 cm. For easy work, draw the pattern at the cardboard then applied to the fabric to cut it. In this craft project we need the pattern that include a circle with 19 cm diameter, square with 10 x 10 cm and 14 x 14 cm. Make 12 square fabric cuts with 10 x 10 cm in size and 8 square fabric cuts with 14 x 14 cm in size. Fold every square fabric become triangle (see guide picture).
Sew the tips of 4 triangle fabrics one by one above circle fabric that start from circle center, then baste around them with 4 cm of space from the center of circle fabric (arrangement 1). After that, arrange 8 triangle fabrics above the first arrangement (see picture). Take about 2 cm space within the first triangle tip with these triangle tips (arrangement 2). Baste around arrangement 2 about 8.5 cm from circle center. Then put 8 triangle cuts above arrangement 2 as the same way with arrangement 2, take 2 cm of space from triangle tip in arrangement 2 and baste around this arrangement about 8.5 cm from circle center (arrangement 3).
Finally put layer at the bottom of this circle with felt fabric and baste the circle edge with wide strip of cloth as trim. Don’t forget to use different motive fabric for arrangement 1, 2 and 3 so this craft project look nice.
