How to Make Flower from Muslin
How to make flower from muslin? Muslin can be used for artificial flower after passing certain process as mentioned in previous craft project article. For this gladiolus flower craft project we choose light pink muslin as the flower color and green as the leaves.
How to make flower
First we need to make a pattern for the crown of the flower following the picture below. Make some pieces of this muslin cut. Don’t forget to twist every muslin cut along its edge. So the edge look neat and good. Then prepare your styrofoam to form a center part of the flower. Form it like the water drop (like picture) with about 2×2 cm of size. Stick a wire for the stem of flower to the styrofoam (at the bottom part of water drop-like styrofoam). Wrap the styrofoam with the same color (with the muslin) of crepe paper. Repeat to wrap it again using same color of muslin. Put the first crown around the wrapped styrofoam. Put the certain number of muslin crowns according to the flower size. The big flower needs more crowns. Then finally wrap the rest of the wire using green crepe paper.
Make the leaf pattern using green muslin like picture guide. Twist its edge. Prepare a wire that has been wrapped with green crepe. Then baste it along the middle line of the leaf as the leaf stem. Gladiolus consist of many artificial flowers in a stem so arrange some flowers and leaves for a stem of gladiolus.
