Clay Pot Crafts
Clay is surely different with plain ground. Clay contains about 30% or more of pliable particle. Pliable means that it contains pliancy if mixed with water. This is the main description of this clay pot crafts processing.
Clay is main ingredient for this pot. Sometimes the clay is too thickness, so we must add it with the sand. After the clay is ready then begin to make the pot, use a tool that can be rotated (see the picture) so the wanted shape of pot can be got. The rotation process can be done manually by the hand or use automatic tool for easier way. The big pot need big tool and small tool is suitable for small pot.
Pot processing should be done in special place that protected from hot, so the pot shape can be preserved.
Drying process needs various time depend on the weather. It is around 3 days until more than one week. In drying process sometime we need to dab the gasoline to the pot so it looks shine. This is applied to the pot which will be painted with color so the ending result will looks shine.
After the pot is quite dry we can start to give motive to it by engrave it.
The finishing process of this craft project is burning process. This stage using small fire at first about 2 – 3 hours then the fire is enlarged until about 4 – 5 hours.
