Polymer Clay Craft Project
Often hear about polymer clay? The way to make polymer clay creation is actually same with ceramics art. But the difference is the base ingredient of polymer clay has its own color and after burned, its color isn’t change. The polymer clay base ingredient isn’t like commonly clay because it has various base colors, so we don’t need to give the color, but we can create the new wanted colors with mix some colors. This ingredient is very elastic and can be made become various shape. After the polymer clay has been formed, it can be solid material trough burning process.
Usually we can buy the polymer clay instant in the store and for the glue we can use polyvinyl acetate or other glue. Even some peoples make their own polymer clay from cake flour (ex: wheat), cake preservation and white glue. For these last ingredients, it seems that it can dry without entering the polymer clay into the oven.
The special tolls to help us produce this craft like the knife, the mold and refiner also provided in the stores. We still can use our own tools like cutter or the usual knife but the result may not as good as if we use the original tools that designed for polymer clay because the sharpness are different.
How to make polymer clay
Enter the polymer clay into pasta maker so the polymer clay ingredient becomes oft and easy to formed. Pasta maker
is the ingredient to soften the polymer clay and also has function to make new various color with mix some base color polymer clay. If you want the new color, mix some polymer clay base color and enter it to pasta maker so can be mixed. Form every color as you want and the cling the other shapes become one completed shape. You can change the shape free as long as the polymer clay hasn’t burned yet. After the shape formed like you want, enter it in the oven with the temperature about 160° for 10 minutes.
