The herbarium is the art of dry up various leafs and flowers with press it in the middle of the thick book. So now we try to arrange it become a beautiful painting craft in your wall.

How to dry up the herbarium plants

Choose the flower and leafs that isn’t too wide. For the leaf you may wash it first, while the flower doesn’t need to wash because its sepal can break. You can use the flower of bougainvillea, small rose, jasmine, grass flower and others. Choose the flowers that don’t have layered sepal. The dark color flower will pale after dried, while the white flower will be brownish.

Arrange the flowers according to its color. Arrange the flower sepal position like you want. Insert it between a piece of paper (cassava, patron or bread paper) and tissue paper. And then insert it in the middle of a thick book. Close and let it for 6 weeks.

To keep the herbarium color doesn’t change and avoiding the humidity that can cause mushroom, sometimes you need to hang it under the sunlight.

The way to make herbarium floral arrangementFirst, draw the patron to arrangement your herbarium in a paper (you can use recycling paper) then use the pincers to put the flower in the patron. Give the glue (may use plastic glue) in the back of dry flower and leaf. After your herbarium flower craft has finished, put your craft under the sunlight directly for a moment.
